After her successful gig last year at Oerol, harpist Iris van der Ende came to STEIM to further develop her live laser system at the third edition of our Instrument Lab residency program. The result of her ongoing work is the Stellar Sound Rooftop. Inspired by the sonic analysis of distant stars by astrophysicists, the performance combines an interactive outdoor laser system with compositional elements of classical harp and recordings made of the sonic signatures of heavenly bodies. Featuring narratives by Hungarian astrophysicist Zoltán Kolláth. The evening premier will take place on the roof of the Q-Park garage at the Cultura Nova festival in Heerlen.
