LiSa X © v1.25 :

LiSa X © is sound manipulation software ultimately designed for live sonic performance. LiSa's functionality is centered around creating a sound field in the computer, where the performer can record and manipulate multiple sound streams on the fly.

Using live recorded sound and/or pre-stored revived sound montages; LiSa X combines the precision of studio practice with the liveliness of the stage. As a performance tool, LiSa X offers the oppertunity to use gestural input devices and control surfaces in an effective way to create augmented laptop music performances. As a specific studio tool, LiSa X allows the musician to compose and construct, play and resample multi layer sound structures with simple and fast moves.

LiSa X is built to simultaneously support: Live recording, gestural controlled playback, keyboard/control suface playback, automated pattern playback, sequencer controlled playback and immediate use and reshaping of other musicians live sound.

LiSa X has been designed by musicians for musicians and is increasingly being used by performers for its rapidity and sonic feel.

  junXion © v3:

junXion © is a software tool to process incoming data from USB devices (joysticks, touchscreens, mice), MIDI devices, OSC sources, Audio Inputs and WiiRemote controllers using conditional processing and remapping. The outputted data (MIDI or OSC) can be routed to other MIDI controllable music and sound software or hardware.

NOTE: users with a registration code for junXion v2 can use the same code for v3 - no upgrade is necessary.

NOTE: junXion v3 needs OS X 10.4 or higher. If you're running OS X 10.3 you can use junXion v2.

junXion © v1.4 is a very simple predecessor of junXion v3. With v1.4 you can do basic mapping of USB devices (such as joysticks), but there is no MIDI processing nor fancy conditional mapping.

  BigEye © 1.1.4 (OS 9):

BigEye © is a Macintosh program designed to take video information and convert it into Midi messages. Based on color information or a 'reference image' the software allows tracking of objects through space and converts their parameters into midi in real time. Using a powerful scripting language BigEye lets you build a 'hands free' digital control system for live performance and electronic installations.

STEIM no longer supports BigEye, and there will be no upgrade to OS X in the near future. We recommend looking into Isadora as an alternative.

junXionboard ©

The junXionboard is STEIM's new sensorinterface. Supporting 8 analog sensors, 16 switches and 2 ultrasound channels it is currently still in beta stage. People participating in the JunXion Beta Program pay € 50 to get the junXionboard and are expected to feedback every month on their progress with the board. Optional ultrasound receivers are for sale for € 35. Requests for participation can be send to support [at] steim [dot] nl.

The manual can be downloaded here.

Note: the junXionboard only works with USB1.1 hubs, NOT with USB2.0 hubs.
  Lickmachine © (OS 9):

The Lick Machine © (or Midi Performance Machine) allows the artist to use Midi controllers to conduct an electronic orchestra through completely controllable sequences. The program uses so called performance setups, in which you trigger and 'drive' a group of prerecorded sequences, the so called 'Licks'. With a single key from a Midi keyboard a complex series of musical events can be triggered, i.e. a 'Lick'.

Sensorlab:
The STEIM SensorLab is a small, general purpose, analog to Midi interface for the prototyping of musical instruments and interactive control systems. Whether the computer is a central element in an artists work or simply a tool bridging a technological gap, the need for real world input and output is essential. The SensorLab connects the real world of physical phenomena and gestures via Midi to personal computers and to Midi musical and studio devices.

Unfortunately, the Sensorlab is no longer for sale. We are working on a new solution for interfacing sensors.
