ALGORAVE Working with Live Instruments in SuperCollider

On Saturday 22 March, FIBER and STEIM join forces to present the Netherlands’ very first Algorithmic Rave. But before we bring out the glowsticks, Matt Yeeking will be showing his tips and tricks in working with live instruments and SuperCollider

This workshop is aimed at SuperCollider users who are interested in combining code with instruments, getting a peak at a range of approaches. Topics that will be discussed include:
 
- effects
- live sampling
- onset detection
- beat detection
- pitch detection
- markov chains
 
Be sure to bring a laptop with SuperCollider preinstalled and instrument to be able to follow the workshop!

Matthew Yee-King
Matthew Yee-King is a Lecturer in Computing at Goldsmiths, University of London. He is an expert in creative digital signal processing and computer music and has worked with some of the leading names in the UK experimental music scene, releasing his works on labels as Rephlex and Trash Records. He is involved in the Algorave scene and performs in collaboration with Alex McLean as Canute. He teaches on the BSc Creative Computing topics such as audio signal processing and synthesis, programming in Processing
and audio development for the Android platform.
