Conservatory Amsterdam Live Electronics Workshop

Public Presentation of New Works



Original annoucement:

STEIM hosts an introductory course of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. This short course, taught by Jos Zwaanenburg, will take nine days (per group one 3-hour session a day) and makes use of STEIM's LiSa and JunXion to work on "traditional instrument plus live electronic extension". On Friday April 29th at 8 p.m. there will be a final public presentation of the pieces, prepared during the course.


Subjects to work on are:

   * recent developments in live electronics
   * instruments and analog electronics (amlpification, spatialisation, effects such as delay and flanging)
   * pitch-to-MIDI conversion
   * using computers (sampling, reactivity & interactivity, LiSa & JunXion
   * the fruitful influence of electronics on traditional playing technique
   * composition and performance with the live electronic extension

 

Entry is free.
