Ensemble MAE - Dissolve

With new works by Jasna Velickovic, Teodora Stepancic, Tao G. Vrhovec Sambolec, Hugo Morales, Ezequiel Menalled and Matt Wright.

STEIM has been collaborating with Ensemble MAE on this program, especially in the development of Jasna Velickovic's composition. For this composition STEIM has built a custom interface that interactively triggers various objects throughout the performance space.

Jasna Velickovic preparations

Playing an instrument without touching it: it is possible! In six modern musical pieces by up-and-coming composers, Ensemble MAE will demonstrate that numbers can become music, that the audience plays a crucial part at a concert and that resonance can be very intriguing. With the aid of new technologies, these works broaden our ways of listening and explore the boundaries of the contemporary music performance.

Ensemble MAE brings new music and new ways to perform it. Our ideas about what a concert is will be stirred up. Our expectations will be taken by surprise.

Dissolve brings surprising, elusive, personal, transgressive sounds.
